The Air Jordan 1 Royal is making a return this April 2017 as a follow up to last year’s Air Jordan 1 Banned release.
Through the years, we have seen the ‘Royal’ Air Jordan 1 OG release a handful of times. Originally release in 1985 which started the Jordan line. In 2001, the brand retrod this model but wasn’t like the OG release and came more as a mid, but still very popular. The last and final time we saw this colorway release (not including the low) was in 2013. Although some complained about the material used, they instantly sold-out due to limited availability.
The 2017 Air Jordan 1 High OG Royal Blue will be much like the originals while featuring a Black and Varsity Royal color scheme while receiving the remastered treatment. The shoes will retain the Nike Air branding that lands on the tongue, insole and sole while the Wings lands by the collar. Black is then placed on the panels, around the collar, tongue and laces. The overlays will pop due to the use of Varsity Royal which also hits the Swoosh, toe and outsole. Finishing the look while adding contrast is a White midsole.
Look for the Air Jordan 1 OG “Royal” to release on April 1st, 2017 at select Jordan Brand retail stores. The retail price tag is set at $160 USD.
